MINING TAX


State levies taxes upon those who develop the mines, which produce oil, gas, coal, gold, platinum, copper, iron, etc. Natural wealth of each country's is considered to be the entire wealth of people of this country. The income derived from production and sales of this wealth belongs not only to the people who produced it, but to everyone. That’s why the state withholds tax from people who work the mine, and then shares the received sums between the rests of the population through the budget.
Mining tax is withheld at the rate of 26%, 20%, 3% from the wholesale prices of crude oil, natural gas, all types of metals extracted from the subsurface strata of the earth on the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan (including Caspian sea sector belonging to the Republic of Azerbaijan) and from 0.02 to 6 manats for every m³ of non-metallic natural resources depending on their types.
